The Devil Rides Again: Correlation as an Index of Fit
نویسنده
چکیده
Correlations between theoretical predictions and data can be higher for incorrect than for correct models, as illustrated by analyses of two sets of hypothetical data. This fact raises questions about the conclusions of recent studies that use correlation as an index of fit. Functional measurement provides a sounder basis for model evaluation by placing scaling in the context of model fitting and by testing deviations from prediction rather than concent rating an overall goodness of fit.

متن کاملDeveloping Persian version of Sensory Gating Inventory (SGI): Validity and Reliability
Introduction: Sensory Gating Inventory (SGI) measures behavioral aspects of Sensory Gating (SG). It is a filtering mechanism of brain that prevents irrelevant sensory inputs from entering into higher cortex information processing. It modifies sensitivity to sensory stimuli. Abnormal SG leads to overloading of information into cortex and brain dysfunction. Electrophysiological techniques cannot ...

Background: Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)Conventionally, Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring has beenused by intensivists to measure intravascular volume. However, it is an invasive procedure resulting in many complications. Non-invasive ultrasonographic measurement of inferior vena cava collapsibility index (IVC-CI) is a promising alternative. Therefore, this study wasconducte...
